Mr. Kiri has over 10 years capital markets and asset management experience in North America, England and the Pacific Rim, with primary focus on Mining and Oil & Gas sectors. He spent four years with Scotia Bank as an International Equity analyst, and was responsible for the management of the Scotia Pacific Rim Mutual Fund.
Sam has also worked in the Pacific Rim as a Sell side equity analyst and was actively involved in equity research. Mr. Kiri has extensive capital market experience in Sri Lanka having worked as an engineer and subsequently in Sri Lankan capital markets. He worked as an investment analyst at the Capital Development and Investment Corporation (CDIC, a subsidiary of the National Development Bank), Asia Capital and Commercial Capital. He was directly involved in project financing (venture capital), equity research, Initial Public Offerings and few government privatizations.
Sam is currently the Managing Director of Proactive Investors, a global media network which provides information on Capital Market activities, with considerable focus on the Mining Sector. In addition, he is involved in cross border listing which entails dual listing of ASX/London AIM companies on the Toronto Stock Exchange. In addition, Sam was involved in Macro Policy research with focus on the impact of Geo-politics on energy and mining sectors. His past and present clients include Medley Global Advisors (US), Zimmerman Adams International (UK), Proactive Investors and Ascenta Capital Partners (Canada).
Sam is a CFA Charter Holder, a qualified Management Accountant (ACMA - UK) and has a MBA in Finance. He is also a member of the Chatham House (UK) and a Visiting Lecturer for Capital Markets and Corporate Finance at the University of Toronto, School of Continuing Studies.
